Wow, has it been 6 months? My (youngest) little girl is now 10 months. She’s crawling, eating solid finger foods, got her first tooth (my kids are late teethers), clapping (her new thing) and even started to stand up and get into stuff.
So looking back at my last couple of posts (and laughing at myself, because if you can’t laugh at yourself you’re in a losing battle with the chaos that comes from being a parent), I realized I really bit off more than I could do. Looking back I can readily admit this. You know what they say “hindsight is 20-20”.
Then, I was all ready to start my Organizing Business, but that has gone to the wayside (for the time being). I decided I just didn’t have the resources (mostly time) to start this new business with three Preschool or younger aged children (yes, what was I thinking). Instead I started another contracting gig that basically I can do part-time, from home and is flexible if something with the kids comes up. This fits the season of life I’m in much better.
Then I was starting a month of 3 in 30. I’m still working on those same 3 in 30 goals … and of course right after I wrote it out here on the blog, all the increasing hours of sleep my littlest one was getting went out the window which means mine did too. I’m still working on the 5 minute prayer a day piece. And the exercise, well that’s another story…
All this to say, sometimes you just aren’t in control of your life. No, I don’t mean you don’t have to own up to your own decisions and take responsibility for your life, but if you think you can control everything in your life and how your life will play out … be ready to be disappointed. I am definitely in the throes of living one day at a time, reminding myself “don’t forget to take of you” and learning Proverbs 3:5-6.
Even with my love (and sometime need) to organize the details of life, home and work, sometimes you (and I mean myself here) just don’t have time to do it all and have to just ride the rollercoaster and enjoy it as much as you can. (by the way, I hate most rollercoasters, ha lol… but sometimes they can be fun.)
