Month to Get Organized

27 Jan

January is a big “Get Organized” month for a lot of people. For some it’s part one of their resolutions for the year (“Finally tackle the”… fill in the blank), others it just fits nicely into putting away their Holiday decorations or it may simply be a part of starting a new year. All of this is accentuated by the fact that most stores have sales on the very items people think of when they want to get organized – bins, boxes, racks, office items, toy coraling apparatus and even whole closet systems. It’s enough to make you feel either overwhelmed OR want to buy out half the store. But what makes a successful organizing plunge is not the “perfect” container, but the process of determining what you have, what you need and how to get it to being “organized”. And that, I’m sorry to say you can’t buy from the store.

Here is a great post from another Professional Organizing veteran:

I encourage you to Get started. Start small. And don’t forget… declutter what you have and sort it into groups before going shopping for containers. Happy Organizing!
